5v5 Academy Team

Premier Soccer is proud to announce the schedule of it's 2010 U-15 and U-18 5v5 Academy Teams. The goal of the 5v5 Academy is to provide a professional type of training environment to prepare players to compete in the 5v5 Nike Cup Regionals in West Chester, PA on June 26th with the goal of qualifying for the finals on July 11th in NYC and also attending the World Cup Final viewing party hosted by Nike.

The Academy will be based at the outstanding United Sports Training Center Facility in Downingtown, PA. An added feature is that USTC is also the home training facility of the Women's Professional Soccer team, the Philadelphia Independence. During the Academy training sessions, Students will be able to observe the Independence train, meet the players and get an extremely rare first-hand insight into what it takes to be a professional soccer player.

Academy Director and Head Coach - Steve Fraser

Steve is an assistant coach for the Philadelphia Independence. After 3 years coaching with the Philadelphia Liberty in the WPSL, Steve was added to the coaching staff of the expansion Independence team in 2009 and assisted in the pre-season player combines, the WPS draft at the NSCAA coaches convention, pre-season training and had helped guide to the team to a great start in their inaugural season.

Steve has been lucky enough to work with successful women's coaches such as Anson Dorrnace at his high level UNC Girls Soccer Camp and also World Cup and Olympic Gold winning Women's national team head coach Tony DiCicco on his SoccerPlus summer camp staff. This coaching experience in the USA, coupled with Steve's coaching experiences in England, France, Holland, Italy and more enables the creation of a demanding and unique pro-style Academy training environment that has pushed players to compete at the highest levels for Club, State ODP, Regional ODP, National ODP teams, college soccer, WPSL and WPS league play.

Our 5v5 Academy program will consist of 2 sessions of high level training which includes observing WPS pro-team training, culminating in competing in the Nike Cup.

9:30am - Check In @ USTC

10am - Portugal vs. Brazil viewing party

12noon - Lunch

1pm - Academy Training (technical)

2:30pm - Academy Training (tactical)

5pm - Meet and Greet Philadelphia Independence WPS Team, Observe Training

June 26th -

11:30am - Check in @ Line Road, West Chester

1 - 4:30pm - Nike Cup Group Games

If a 5v5 Academy team qualifies for the Nike Cup July 11th final, then the team will have another training session prior to leaving for New York!
